Postpartum Doula Care

(In-home care in the Northern Rivers)

The first forty days after birth are a sacred window for rest, nourishment and recovery. This five-week postpartum offering is designed to gently hold you through those first precious weeks with practical support, nourishing food, herbal medicine, emotional care and restorative bodywork, so you can slow down, receive, and be deeply nurtured during one of life's greatest transitions.

WHY

The weeks following birth are some of the most tender and transformative of a woman and her families life. While so much attention is given to preparing for birth, very little is given to preparing for what comes after.

Across many traditional cultures, the first forty days after birth are recognised as a sacred window for rest, nourishment and recovery. During this time, the focus is placed not only on caring for the baby, but on caring for the mother. When a mother is deeply supported, she is better able to recover, bond with her baby, establish breastfeeding, and transition into motherhood feeling resourced rather than depleted.

This five-week postpartum offering is inspired by this ancient wisdom and is designed to gently hold you through those first precious weeks so that you can be deeply nurtured during one of life's greatest transitions.

WHAT

Over five weeks, I will visit you in your home for six individual two-hour sessions, offering personalised support that meets you where you are at each week.

Each visit may include:

  • A freshly prepared warming, nourishing meal made in your home.

  • Herbal medicine to support healing, recovery, milk supply and nervous system health where appropriate.

  • Birth debriefing and emotional support as you process your birth experience and transition into motherhood.

  • Gentle help around the home, whether that's folding washing, preparing food, tidying the kitchen, or holding the baby while you shower or rest.

  • Education and guidance to help you feel confident as you settle into life with your baby.

  • A calm, grounding presence and someone to care for you while you care for your little one.

Our final visit concludes with a closing 2 hour bodywork ceremony—a beautiful ritual to honour your pregnancy, birth and the completion of the initial postpartum chapter and our time together. This gentle closing practice offers warmth, stillness and space to acknowledge everything your body, heart and spirit have opened and journeyed through.
