Beyond Anxiety is a connected group experience that explores how to build capacity to embrace your fears, so that you can grow larger then anxiety. Through cultivating an internal sense of safety, you will learn how to rewire your neurological pathways to overcome the hold that fear has in your life. It is an online group therapy container, that runs weekly for 4 weeks. The container is limited to a small group of 4 people. The four main pillars are connection, education, experience, integration. There will be a mix of education and taking in information intellectually, paired with experiencing and embodying the information. Over the 4 weeks you will gain insight into your experience of fear, both personally and collectively. We will look at the nervous system, Polyvagal theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and art therapy. You will learn tools to support you on your journey as well as gain deeper insights into what is going on underneath the surface.

Program Overview

Week 1: ESTABLISHING SAFETY

  • Introduction to the program, with an overview of the 4-week journey together.

  • Setting the container and building safety within ourselves and within the group.

  • Exploration of anxiety — what it is, how it presents, understanding of the hormones at play, offering new perspectives.

  • Exploration of safety— what is safety, what does it feel like, practicing tools to cultivate embodied safety.

WEEK 2: THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

  • Introduction to Polyvagal Theory, a trauma informed approach to understanding the Nervous System.

  • Understanding the fight or flight response and it’s role in the experience of anxiety.

  • Practicing nervous system regulation tools to support you in daily life.

  • Exploring the facets of health and how we can nourish our nervous systems.

WEEK 3: PARTS WORK & ART THERAPY

  • Introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Parts work.

  • Exploring ‘Self’ energy and how to cultivate this in daily life.

  • Opening up dialogue between our different parts and dissolving shame.

  • Exploring the idea of inner parenting and tending to the vulnerable parts of us.

WEEK 4: INTEGRATION & CONNECTION

  • Integrating all of this understanding into daily life.

  • Opportunity to share, and witness others.

Bronte studied a Post Graduate Holistic Counselling & Psychotherapy course at the Metavision Institute and is a member of the Psychotherapists & Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
